About the Segla hike

The Segla hike will bring you to one of the most iconic mountain peaks in Norway, and the hike is a very popular one among people. The trip starts at Fjordgård and brings you 639 meters up in the heights. As Segla is such a popular hike, the trail can be very run-down and have a lot of loose sand and small rocks on the last section. There are also quite steep sections up to the top so one should be experienced and active hikers to climb Segla. The view from the top is of the beautiful mountains located in the area, as well as fjords and the Norwegian Sea in the horizon. The peak is a great place to enjoy the midnight sun and evening sun from during the summer, but it is also nice in late autumn when there is fog lying low in the mountains – if you are interested in taking some cool pictures.
Be aware that although the maps are based on GPS tracks, the intention is still just to provide the starting point and approximate direction of the trip, and do not take into account exact positioning. The accuracy of maps and GPS can also vary slightly.
You are always responsible for making your own assements when hiking in the mountains.

It is also important to be well-suited for the weather conditions, in addition to bringing enough water and a snack to keep the energy level stable.
