The Sørskottinden hike

The trail to Sørskottinden begins at the main road, where you follow a well-marked path into the forest and up towards the summit. The hike is relatively undemanding in terms of physical effort, and the path is easy to follow all the way to the cairn at the top, where you will be rewarded with a fantastic panoramic view.

At the summit of Sørskottinden, an impressive vista unfolds, spanning across Norskot, Vestfjorden, and large parts of Steigen, including Engeløya. From here, you can truly appreciate the beautiful scenery that surrounds you, and take in the majestic landscapes of northern Norway.

If weather conditions permit, the summit is an ideal place to end the day and experience the soothing warmth and colors that paint the horizon as the evening sun begins to set. Sørskottinden not only provides an opportunity to explore the stunning natural area but also to immerse yourself in the changing atmospheres created by nature as day turns into evening.

Important!

While the maps are based on real GPS tracks, please note that their primary purpose is to provide a starting point and approximate route for the trip, rather than precise positioning. The accuracy of maps and GPS may also vary slightly.

You are always responsible for making your own judgments when venturing into the mountains, taking the current conditions into account. It’s crucial to ensure you have appropriate footwear for the conditions and that you bring an adequate supply of food and water for your journey.

It is also important to check the local weather forecast in advance.
