About the Tønsåsheia hike
The Tønsåsheia hike is a mountain hike for the slightly experienced and active hikers who have a good balance and who do not struggle with the fear of heights. The trip starts near Nusfjord. It is a relatively gentle climb at first, but then there are some steep sections from a couple of kilometres. The view from the top is primarily of mountain ranges, the Vestfjord and small fishing villages. The trip is especially nice when the weather is nice and clear skies when you have a clear view. Despite this, Tønsåsheia is not particularly well known to most people, and you can therefore not count on meeting many other hikers on the road.
Be aware that although the maps are based on GPS tracks, the intention is still just to provide the starting point and approximate direction of the trip, and do not take into account exact positioning. The accuracy of maps and GPS can also vary slightly.
You are always responsible for making your own assements when hiking in the mountains. It is also important to be well-suited for the weather conditions, in addition to bringing enough water and a snack to keep the energy level stable.
