About the Vågakallen hike
The Vågakallen hike is one of the ultimate hikes for active and experienced hikers. The view on the top is really amazing on sunny days, but it is also a good advice to avoid this one when it rains, as some certain parts can be very slippy and dagnerous. It is important to bring enough water and some food to keep the energylevel up for the very top and back. The last part of the climb is very steep so if you arent comfortable with heights, you should skip it. The first 2/3’s of the hike is easy for most people and will also provide you with great views and fresh air during the hike.
Be aware that although the maps are based on GPS tracks, the intention is still just to provide the starting point and approximate direction of the trip, and do not take into account exact positioning. The accuracy of maps and GPS can also vary slightly.
You are always responsible for making your own assements when hiking in the mountains. It is also important to be well-suited for the weather conditions, in addition to bringing enough water and a snack to keep the energy level stable.
