The Northern Light

Do you wish to one day to be able to see the Nortehern Lights? The Northern lights, also called Aurora Boralis, is natural light display in the earths sky and can be seen in regions with a high latitude. It is the result of disturbances in the magnetosphere caused by solar wind. To be able to see it depends mainly on two factors.: the degree of disturbance of earth’s magnetic field at the time, AND your geographical location. Then you need to be located somewhere where its dark in evenings/night-time and where the sky is cloud free. Lucky for us who lives in Lofoten and Vesterålen region, we got the geographical location and all the other factors perfectly right. Although the weather sometimes can block the Northern lights, that applies to all places in Northern-Norway and around the world in general.
 The phenomena is also very common in Lofoten, Vesterålen and further north.

Finding the best spots for taking pictures

Given that we have optimal conditions to see the Northern Lights in the Northern Norway, we believe that the most important thing is to find the best places to see it and take beautiful pictures. To be able to find the best spots, you need to know where everything is and you need to go to the places with low light pollution and that, at the time, is cloud free. This means that you maybe need to check many spots and cover some relative long distances. .
